Innovate Foresight Planning for Business Development

Expected business developments are assessed in many different ways throughout the North Sea region, so how can we learn from each other?

Systematic use of the knowledge of the industry itself is one important way to create a basis for sound decision making for future business development, i.e. “foresight planning”. This type of foresight planning should be done in an active dialogue within industries, industrial associations and individual companies as well as together with facilitating public entities. The foresight planning needs to comprise assessments of how the market will develop, technological developments, turnover, employment, investments, export etc.

The vision is to develop competitive businesses and new jobs in the regions by strengthening the innovative foresight planning in the private and public sector.

The aim is to develop innovative foresight planning as a tool both for the private sector and public bodies related to business development to improve their basis for decision making.

About the Project
Industries and businesses have a great challenge to become more competitive in the expanding global economy. An innovative and systematic approach to assessing the present situation and the future trends has been developed in several places in the North Sea Region. There is however a need to look beyond its own region, learn from and cooperate with other regions as well as combining competence and development efforts to expand industries and businesses.
